Responsibilities of the Mother. Part 1.

God gave us mothers an ultimate task when he made us mothers. We get to raise the next generation and it is no easy task. The ideas we give, the atmosphere of our home, and words we speak greatly affect the character of our children.

Proverbs 22:6 say, “Train up a child in the way he should go:and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

I believe that verse with my whole heart. So much goes into training our children. It is a journey of learning, growth, and breakthroughs. With God as your guide the reward is most fulfilling.

Ideas are continually filling our brains and our children’s. We have the incredible ability to help direct those ideas that come into our children’s mind. In this world today we have access to do much media, smartphones with social apps, movies galor, books, so many books, and video games. Each of these and more puts ideas into our minds. These ideas that pass through are good or evil. We then have the choice of what to do with each of those ideas, act on it or trash it. This choice is an act of the will.

With that being said, each child will need to learn how to use his will for the good or the evil. We as the parent are to train the child to choose the good. We can help make these choices easier by putting good ideas in front of their minds eye. Choose the media that is wholesome and good, teaches a lesson of character building, and a vision of a will with a fight against evil.

The atmosphere of our home will greatly affect our children for the good or the evil. Let’s pray it’s always for the good.
A few verses from scripture to encourage us on our parental journey.

Behold, the third time I am ready to come to you; and I will not be burdensome to you: for I seek not yours, but you: for the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.                  2 Corinthians 12:14

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.  Galatians 6:7

As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.  Psalms 127:4

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.  Proverbs 22:6

And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord ; and great shall be the peace of thy children.  Isaiah 54:13 KJV

And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4 KJV
